How sound is what is said about the dislike of commencing work on Wednesday?

The Arabs of old harbored pessimism towards Wednesday and the months of Safar and Shawwal, considering them inauspicious times for travel or marriage. Islam, however, nullified these beliefs, deeming them polytheistic, for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no tiyarah (omen by birds), no hamah (omen by owls), and no Safar (considered inauspicious)."
