What must we believe to be an established proof of God Almighty’s existence in our creed, and must we believe in deducing everything through sciences, or only through reason, innate disposition (fitra), and revelation? And what is the ruling on one who denies the rational proof of God Almighty’s existence while being a Muslim?

Revelation guided to rational proofs for the truthfulness of the message, faith in God, and the Last Day. The Quran urged the use of intellect in reasoning and clarified that the reason for the deviation of those who go astray is their failure to use their intellect, which is what the disbelievers in Hell will admit to.

Some argue against the reliance on rational proof. This has two meanings: 1. A false meaning: Denying the intellect's indication of God, which is the methodology of some Sufis. 2. A correct meaning: Denying some theoretical rational proofs adopted by speculative theologians (Mutakallimun) among philosophers. Ahl al-Sunnah (Sunnis) represent a middle ground between excess and neglect in the use of intellect.

People vary in intellect and knowledge. It is not necessary for everyone to grasp all the various rational indications, nor is a servant required to strain themselves in extracting proofs from every science. Rather, what has become apparent to them from the signs in the universe and within themselves is sufficient. Indeed, proofs may become apparent to one person that others do not grasp due to the strength of their knowledge, intellect, and faith. A servant increases in knowledge and faith whenever God's wisdom and mercy, which astounds their intellect, become apparent to them.
