Does a small amount of water become impure when washing clothes that have alcoholic perfumes on them? And is it permissible to adopt the view of those who say that a small amount of water does not become impure except through change, in order to avoid obsessive doubts and family problems?

Piety and avoiding doubtful matters are good, but they should not lead to obsessive-compulsive disorder (waswasa) and blameworthy extremism (tanattu'). One can act upon the opinion of the Malikis and those who agreed with them, that a small amount of water does not become impure except through change [in its properties], and there is no harm in perfumes not being impure. It is permissible for someone afflicted with waswasa to adopt the easiest opinions.
