What is the effect of devoutness on a student's recitation of the Holy Qur’an?

Rabbaniyyah (divine devotion) is adhering to the Qur’an and Sunnah, and it has many effects on the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, including:

1. Sincerity of Intention: One should intend by their recitation to seek the countenance of Allah Almighty and draw closer to Him, for deeds without sincerity have no value. 2. Outer and Inner Purity: Purifying the body from ritual impurity (hadath) and physical impurities (khabath), and purifying the heart from sins and maladies such as envy, self-admiration, and ostentation. 3. Contemplating the Meanings of the Qur’an: Understanding the verses of the Qur’an and acting upon them, for mere recitation is not sufficient. 4. Acting upon the Qur’an: Implementing its commands and avoiding its prohibitions. 5. Adhering to Humility and Submission: One should be humble and submissive during recitation and in all their affairs, and be serious in their commitment to the Qur’an. 6. Not Interrupting the Recitation: One should not interrupt the recitation for worldly matters except out of necessity.
