How can we reconcile the Hadith, "Blessed is he who abandons disputation even if he is in the right," with the necessity of manifesting the truth, discussing with others to correct mistaken concepts or repel injustice, especially if these discussions require considerable time, effort, and disputation? Is this type of discussion considered disputation that should be abandoned? And what is the alternative?

Debate is of two types: praiseworthy and blameworthy.

Praiseworthy debate is that which aims to manifest truth and refute falsehood, provided that it results in benefit and safeguards against its pitfalls, such as conceit.

As for blameworthy debate, it is debating with falsehood or without knowledge, or that from which no benefit is expected, or whose harm outweighs its benefit, or whose intention is to assert dominance and overcome others, or which involves harshness and rudeness. It is every objection to another's words by exposing a flaw in them with the intention of silencing and shaming them.

The sign of truthful argumentation is that if the truth becomes clear to a person, they are convinced and declare their retraction.
