What is the ruling regarding a breastfeeding woman in postpartum bleeding (nifas), if we adopt the view that pregnant and breastfeeding women should feed the poor in Ramadan?

Regarding pregnant and breastfeeding women, there are different scholarly opinions. The view that limits the expiation to feeding is not among the established positions of the recognized schools of thought. As for a woman in postpartum bleeding (nifas), breaking her fast is obligatory by scholarly consensus, and it is not permissible for her to fast. She is also required to make up the missed fasts by scholarly consensus. If a woman is menstruating or in postpartum bleeding, the ruling concerning her menstruation or postpartum bleeding takes precedence over any other reasons for breaking the fast. Thus, she must make up the missed fasts, and she is not required to feed anyone in addition to making up the fasts.
