Did the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) continue to work after his prophethood, and if so, what exactly did he do?
The Prophet, peace be upon him, spent his entire life worshipping his Lord, Almighty and Majestic, and obeying His commands, as evidenced by the Almighty's saying: (And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty) [Al-Hijr: 99], and the saying of Jesus, peace be upon him: (And He enjoined upon me prayer and zakah as long as I remain alive) [Maryam: 31]. The interpretation by some heretics of the verse that certainty (al-yaqeen) means knowledge of Allah, and that a servant is absolved from worship once he reaches this level, is an act of disbelief and the consensus of Muslims is on its invalidity. For the Prophets were the most knowledgeable of people concerning Allah, yet they were the most devout in worshipping Him, as the Almighty said: (Only those fear Allah, from among His servants, who have knowledge) [Fatir: 28].
