Is designing a magazine that includes advertisements for products such as perfumes and shoes, and which contains images of unveiled women, considered a sin for the designer and the owner of the magazine?
It is not permissible to add advertisements that include unlawful content, such as images of unveiled women. Nor is it permissible to aid in the dissemination of such advertisements, because aiding in disobedience to Allah is forbidden, as Allah Almighty says: "And do not cooperate in sin and aggression." (Quran 5:2). Whoever aids in a sin is a partner to its doer in sin, and the proof for this is the hadith: "Whoever calls to misguidance will have sin upon him like the sins of those who follow him." This is also indicated by the Prophet's (peace be upon him) curse upon the one who consumes usury, the one who feeds it, its scribe, and its two witnesses, making them equal in sin for their assistance in usury.
