The question

Is obedience to parents prioritized over obedience to the suitor when they disagree? And should the fiancée treat her fiancé as a husband regarding his rights and obedience, such as the issue of the angels' curse if he sleeps angry? And is the fiancée sinful if her fiancé sleeps angry without any shortcoming on her part?

The answer

The obligatory obedience to spouses or parents is only in what is recognized as good. A wife, before consummation, owes obedience to her guardian, not to her husband, as she is still in her family's home and under their guardianship. Nevertheless, she should be kind to her husband and obey him in what is recognized as good, as long as it does not conflict with the rights of her parents. Her husband's anger or displeasure with her, when it is without just cause, does not harm her. As for the angels cursing a wife, that is for her refusal to share her husband's bed without a valid excuse.
