Were the parents of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, followers of the religion of Ibrahim, peace be upon him, and does that explain His saying, the Almighty: "and your turning among those who prostrate themselves"?

The correct view is that the Prophet’s parents, peace and blessings be upon him, are in Hellfire. This is based on what is narrated in Sahih Muslim, that a man asked the Prophet about his father, and the Prophet said to him: "Indeed, your father is in Hellfire." When the man turned away, the Prophet called him and said: "Indeed, my father and your father are in Hellfire."

Furthermore, the Prophet sought permission from his Lord to visit his mother's grave, and he was granted permission. However, when he sought permission to pray for her forgiveness, he was not granted it.

As for the interpretation of Allah's saying: "and your turning about among those who prostrate themselves" (26:219), scholars have differed on it: - Some said it means the Prophet's turning from one state, like prostration, to another, like standing, during his leading of congregational prayers. - Some said it means the Prophet's turning during his night vigil (Tahajjud) to check on those performing it. - Some said it means the Prophet's gaze turning towards those praying behind him, as he, peace and blessings be upon him, could see those behind him. - Some said it means the Prophet's moving and frequenting among the believers to fulfill his mission and uphold the word of Allah. - Some said it means the Prophet's transition through the loins of the prophets until his mother bore him. Some scholars have used this verse to argue for the belief of the Prophet's parents, peace and blessings be upon him, based on the interpretation of "turning about" as transitioning through loins and "those who prostrate themselves" as believers.
