What is the chain of transmission for the supplication: "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. There is no god but Allah, the Sovereign, the Manifest Truth..."?

The supplication in its complete form as mentioned has not been found. However, parts of it have been reported in authentic hadiths. The phrase "O Allah, grant my soul its piety, and purify it, for You are the best of those who purify it, You are its Guardian and Master" is part of a hadith narrated by Muslim. Also, there is the supplication of a man who prayed, "O Allah, I ask You, for to You belongs all praise, there is no god but You, the Bestower, the Giver of all bounties, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, O Possessor of majesty and honor, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, O Allah, I ask You," and the Prophet (peace be upon him) informed him that he had supplicated with the Greatest Name of Allah. It is also reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to supplicate during the night vigil (Qiyam al-Layl) saying: "O Allah, to You belongs all praise; You are the Light of the heavens and the earth and those therein..." (the rest of the hadith).
