What is the ruling on accompanying, dealing with, and speaking to a pagan disbeliever, whether face-to-face or through social media?

Islamic law has defined the relationship of a Muslim woman with a non-mahram man with a strong fence to prevent temptation. It has commanded her to lower her gaze from non-mahram men, prevented them from looking at her, and forbidden her from being alone with him, for Satan is the third of them. It has prohibited her from softening her speech when talking so that he in whose heart is a disease may not covet, and it has prevented her from forbidden mixing with them. These rulings include both the Muslim and disbelieving non-mahram man, with an emphasis on being cautious of the disbeliever. If there is an urgent need to speak with a non-mahram, the Shariah controls must be observed, such as the conversation being limited to the extent of the need. If the need can be met by a Muslim, it should not be sought from a disbeliever. We draw attention to the danger of studying in mixed educational institutions and the necessity of observing the Shariah controls therein.
