Does one who mocks the Creator in the most severe and hideous ways deserve forgiveness and repentance if he repents? And will God grant him success in repentance if he is regretful? And what is the wisdom behind accepting the repentance of such individuals? And is disbelief in degrees? And can one of them become among God's righteous saints? And who was more disbelieving, Abu Jahl or Pharaoh? And was it possible for God to accept Pharaoh's repentance had he repented?

A Muslim must believe that all of Allah Almighty's actions are based on complete wisdom, and that human intellect is limited and cannot encompass Allah's wisdom. Cursing Allah Almighty and mocking Him is disbelief that expels one from the faith, and the repentance of its perpetrator is valid according to the majority of scholars. Disbelief is not a single degree, and those who are eternally in Hell will vary in their torment. Pharaoh was more disbelieving than Abu Jahl because he denied Lordship and claimed divinity, and he will be subjected to the severest torment. Pharaoh's repentance would have been possible had he repented before witnessing death.
