Is it permissible to enter the bathroom with the Mus'haf (Quran) if there is no place to put it, given that I am traveling and do not reside in this city?
Scholars differed regarding the ruling on taking a Mushaf (copy of the Qur'an) into the toilet:
- The Hanbalis and Malikis view it as impermissible unless there is a need, such as fear of theft or loss. The Malikis permit carrying it if it is covered.
- The Shafi'is consider it disliked (makruh), and it is not forbidden unless the person is in a state of ritual impurity (muhdith) without necessity.
- Based on this, if you find a clean place to put the Mushaf and do not fear its theft, then do not take it into the bathroom. However, if you fear its theft or cannot find a clean place, then it is permissible for you to take it in due to necessity.
