What is the ruling on carrying a Mus'haf into the restroom?

It is forbidden to enter the lavatory with the Mushaf (copy of the Qur’an) except out of necessity, such as fear of it being stolen or lost. However, it is permissible to enter the ablution area or the bathing area with it, though it is better to keep it away from such places.
