What is the solution for dealing with the category of religious people – those who grow their beards – who tarnish the religion with their actions, such as lying and cheating, and who are widespread in Jordan?

One who adorns himself with the garb of the pious yet exhibits flaws in his dealings and morals turns people away from the path of Allah. Allah Almighty warned against using oaths as a means of deceit and treachery, for that shakes faith and distorts the image of Islam. Indeed, groups entered Islam because of the Muslims' fulfillment of their covenants, their truthfulness, and the purity of their dealings. This phenomenon should be addressed by inviting people to noble morals with wisdom and good admonition, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was sent to perfect good character. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, elevated the status of noble character and explained that good character enables its possessor to reach the rank of those who fast constantly and pray through the night, and that it will be the heaviest thing in the believer's balance on the Day of Judgment.
