The malady of arrogance is one that a Muslim must cleanse their heart of, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No one who has the weight of a mustard seed of arrogance in their heart will enter Paradise." Arrogance can be treated by emulating the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, through: speaking about oneself in a way that indicates humility, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I am not a king; I am but the son of a woman who ate dried meat"; sitting with and eating with the weak, and greeting them; and assisting one's family members with chores. The culmination of good lies in supplicating to Allah to grant one humility, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O Allah, make me live as a poor person, make me die as a poor person, and gather me among the company of the poor."
