Is it permissible to shun an arrogant person? Please advise me.
Islam calls for humility and cooperation, and forbids arrogance and envy. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No one who has the weight of a mustard seed of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise," and "Indeed, Allah has revealed to me that you should be humble, so that no one of you may wrong another." The arrogant person should be advised and reminded of the consequences of arrogance. If he does not desist, then there is no harm in shunning him and turning away from him if there is benefit in doing so.
