Is wearing a green abaya and white clothes, or green only, considered following the Sunnah, as some Islamic schools of thought claim?

The basic principle regarding clothing is permissibility. A Muslim may wear whatever colors they wish, except for what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade, such as red and yellow. White is preferred for men, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Wear white clothes, for they are among your best clothes, and shroud your dead in them." Wearing a green abaya is permissible and not a Sunnah, nor is there any virtue in it. It should be avoided if it is a distinctive mark of the people of innovation.
