What is the ruling on a domineering mother who seeks to separate her son from his wife so that he does not enjoy a stable and happy life?

It is strange for a mother to seek her son's misery, yet she might excessively interfere in his affairs and become jealous of his attention to his wife, which affects their relationship. The son must combine filial piety towards his mother with good companionship towards his wife. If the mother attempts to separate them, she commits a grave sin, because "a man's endeavor to separate a woman from her husband is among the severe sins, it is an act of sorcerers, and it is among the greatest deeds of devils." Despite this, her right to filial piety does not cease, no matter her condition, for honoring her is among the greatest causes of Allah's pleasure, and disobedience to her is among the greatest major sins.
