Is it permissible to wear an Indian sari at home in front of female friends and Mahrams if there is no intention of imitation?

The forbidden imitation of disbelievers pertains to matters exclusive to them. As for what has become widespread among people and is no longer specific to them, it does not fall under the prohibition, even if its origin was from them. If the mentioned attire is not exclusive to disbelievers, then wearing it is not considered imitation. Otherwise, it would be forbidden. The absence of an intention to imitate does not remove the ruling of the attire from the forbidden imitation if it is exclusive to disbelievers, because the forbidden imitation does not depend on the doer's intention to imitate.
