Has a hadith been narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with the wording: 'I have left among you that which, if you hold fast to it, you will never go astray after me'?

The hadith was not narrated with the exact wording mentioned. However, Al-Baghawi narrated it in his Tafsir with similar wording from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): "I have left among you that which, if you hold fast to it, you will never go astray after it: the Book of Allah." Al-Tirmidhi narrated it with similar wording from Zayd ibn Arqam and Habib ibn Abi Thabit: "Indeed, I am leaving among you that which, if you hold fast to it, you will not go astray after me." It also appeared with similar wordings in Sahih Muslim and other collections.
