Is it permissible to listen to tambourines accompanied by empty food cans that are beaten, and is it permissible to listen to an instrument resembling a tambourine that Egyptians use in their oriental dances, and another that Iraqis use?

There is no harm in folk or traditional dances at celebrations if they are free of flutes, music, unlawful mixing, and all other forbidden elements. There is no harm in beating tambourines (dufuf) or empty cans. As for the other instrument mentioned, if it is like a tambourine (duff), there is no harm in it. But if it is like a drum (tabl), then it is not permissible.
