What is the ruling on the Imam's second tasleem, and what is the ruling on saying it silently?

Scholars differed regarding the ruling on the second 'tasleem'. If one confines oneself to a single 'tasleem', their prayer is valid. Accordingly, if the congregant stands or says the 'tasleem' before the Imam says the second 'tasleem', their prayer is valid. Nevertheless, it is preferable and more cautious for the congregant not to say the 'tasleem' until after the Imam has said the second 'tasleem', so as to avoid the disagreement of those who deem the prayer invalid in such a case.
