What is the reason for the great difficulty in memorizing the Qur’an, even in correct pronunciation and articulation of words, and the difficulty in recalling short surahs, and what do you advise me?

The difficulty in reading and memorizing the Quran may stem from a lack of habituation to reading and consistent practice, distance from classical Arabic, and a lack of habituation to memorization.

To overcome this, it is recommended to seek Allah's help, not despair, and regularly attend a Quran memorization circle under the guidance of a skilled and proficient sheikh. When memorizing, it is advised to take a small portion and repeat it frequently to solidify it.

The author of Al-Jazariyyah said: "And there is nothing between it and abandoning it except a person's training of his jaw." And Allah Almighty said: "And We have certainly made the Quran easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?" (Al-Qamar: 17). Ibn Kathir interpreted this as making its wording and meaning easy for remembrance.
