The answer

A man who lives near the mosque and hears the call to prayer must pray in congregation there. He is not permitted to miss it except for a valid excuse, because congregational prayer in the mosque is obligatory for an able-bodied man. Whoever fails to attend congregational prayer in the mosque without an excuse is falling short. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave glad tidings to those who walk to the mosques in darkness, promising them perfect light on the Day of Resurrection. As for whoever continues to abandon Fajr prayer in congregation at the mosque, there is a fear that his light will be weak on the Day of Resurrection or even extinguished, just like the hypocrites.
