What is the meaning of the prohibition against extending one's feet towards the Mushaf? And does this include proximity and distance, or elevation and lowness?

The scholars have discussed extending the legs towards the direction of the Mushaf. Some, like the Shafi'is, deemed it forbidden (haram), while others, like the Hanbalis and Hanafis, considered it disliked (makruh).

The Hanafis are of the view that there is no dislike if the Mushaf is not directly in front of the legs, such as when it is placed in an elevated position or hung up.
