Do secularists and atheists claim that the miracle of Al-Isra' wal-Mi'raj (the Night Journey and Ascension) is derived from Zoroastrianism, alleging that Zoroaster ascended to heaven, saw Paradise and Hell, established the five daily prayers, and was visited by angels? Do they also claim the existence of similar stories in other religions, such as those of the Babylonian Etana and the Jewish Elijah?

Praise be to Allah. First: Zoroastrianism is a polytheistic pagan religion.

Second: This slander accuses the Prophet (peace be upon him) of lying about the Isra and Mi'raj (Night Journey and Ascension), and this is false because his prophethood has been established by overwhelming evidence and miracles.

Third: The similarity of some stories among prophets does not cause harm, for whatever is authentically established among them must be believed.

Fourth: The story of Zoroaster's ascension was written between the 9th and 10th centuries CE, which is at least 168 years after the death of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

Fifth: The Babylonian and Jewish ascensions do not share details or objectives with the Prophet's Ascension. The existence of the idea of ascension to heaven in other religions does not invalidate the authenticity of the Prophet's Ascension, because the origin of religion is one, even if people have distorted it.
