What is the reason for the contradiction that makes me distance myself from reading the Qur'an when facing worries and problems, while I advise others to draw closer to Allah and read the Qur'an in such circumstances?

Tribulation is a divine law by which Allah tests His servants to see who among them is best in deeds. The believer is distinguished from others in that he knows his Lord is merciful to him, so he hopes for ease after hardship, and that tribulations are an eraser for his sins. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection, the people of ease will wish, when the people of tribulation are given their reward, that their skins had been cut to pieces with scissors in this world." The believer endures with patience and accepts Allah's decree, and he perceives mercy through tribulation. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the magnitude of the reward is commensurate with the magnitude of the tribulation. And indeed, when Allah loves a people, He afflicts them. So, whoever is content will have contentment, and whoever is displeased will have displeasure." It is advised to strive in seeking Allah's help, having good expectations of Him, and relying upon Him, and to be wary of Satan tempting a person to abandon advising people under the pretext of failing to apply what he preaches to himself.
