The question

Am I entitled to receive financial assistance from the government or from Zakat/Sadaqah, and is it permissible for me to submit a report of psychological disability, given my suffering from demonic possession that causes auditory and visual hallucinations and affects my ability to work and engage in social interaction, despite my commitment to ruqyah (Islamic exorcism) and adhkar (remembrance of Allah)?

The answer

It is recommended to perform Ruqyah Sharia. There is no objection to applying for aid, provided that the truth is stated to the responsible party.

Avoid solitude and idleness. Occupy yourself and disregard voices and delusions.

Frequently repeat the supplication: "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils, and I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they be present with me" (Al-Mu'minun: 97-98).

You are not eligible for Zakat if you are able to earn a living or if you have enough to sustain your life.

Being occasionally nervous is not an excuse to abandon work.

There is no objection to accepting charity other than Zakat if it is given to you, but it is advisable to refrain from it.
