Chants with good words and meanings are permissible, even if accompanied by a duff (tambourine-like instrument). Women wearing tight trousers among women is permissible if they cover the awrah (parts of the body that must be covered). If newspapers contain what must be preserved according to Sharia, then it is obligatory to keep them and refrain from playing with them, and to advise against using them in such a manner, with gentleness and good admonition. If one knows that there is something that must be preserved and the prohibition is not heeded, then the one who prohibits should leave the gathering.
