There is no maintenance (nafaqa) for the wife during the waiting period (iddah) of an irrevocable divorce due to harm, unless she is pregnant, in which case she is entitled to maintenance, based on the Almighty's saying: "And if they are pregnant, then spend on them until they deliver their burden." If she is breastfeeding, she is entitled to a breastfeeding wage, based on the Almighty's saying: "And if they breastfeed for you, then give them their due payment." She is also entitled to maintenance during the litigation period if she is not disobedient (nashiz), because she is legally a wife until the court rules on her divorce.
