What is the ruling regarding a young man who consorts with a girl until she becomes a woman, and he wishes to marry her, but his family refuses due to a lack of compatibility?
The young man should fear Allah in his relationship with the girl, and remember the words of Allah Almighty: "Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do. And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof." If his family refuses marriage to this girl, then he must seek another; because honoring one's parents is obligatory and disobeying them is forbidden. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "May his nose be rubbed in the dust, one who reaches old age with one or both of his parents, yet does not enter Paradise," and "The greatest of grave sins are associating partners with Allah, killing a soul, disobeying parents, and speaking falsehood." Fearing Allah is a means to solve problems, as Allah Almighty says: "And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect."
