What is Islam's position on biology and animal cloning, and what is its view on geological and historical research that speaks of creatures predating humans, such as dinosaurs, given the scientific evidence for them and their lack of mention in religion, and Allah knows best?

Geological and historical research has proven the existence of creatures before humans, such as dinosaurs. The verses of the Holy Quran have included many historical and scientific facts, not all of which have been discovered yet. The Quran has alluded to the existence of creatures that were not previously known, as Allah Almighty says: "And He creates what you do not know" (An-Nahl: 8). It also referred to the existence of ancient life that holds a lesson for the contemplative, and the end of this life may mean the end of the dinosaurs. The Quran contains news whose truths will not become manifest until after a time, as Allah Almighty says: "For every tiding is a [appointed] time, and you are going to know" (Al-An'am: 67). The Muslim's faith that the Quran is a book of truth does not change, and the full understanding of all that is in it may occur at times willed by Allah.
