What is the ruling on taking a grant from the college with incorrect information, given the dire need for money to buy textbooks?

If the grant is conditioned upon specific terms, it is not permissible to circumvent them by lying or similar means, due to the generality of the hadith: "Muslims are bound by their conditions in what is permissible." However, if the applicant or their family reaches a state of necessity such that they cannot find food or shelter except by taking this grant, then it is permissible for them to take it.
