How is it possible to choose between two women—one divorced with a boy, and the other a widow with two children—knowing that both are characterized by good manners and morals, form a complete pair, and their children are beloved?

It is recommended to be keen on marrying a woman of religious commitment and good character, and to supplicate frequently. One should not be deceived by appearances, but rather inquire about the circumstances of both women from trustworthy individuals to discern who is better in terms of religious commitment and character, then perform istikharah. There should be no regret over someone whom Allah diverts from you, for there is good in that which you may not realize. The fact that a woman is divorced or widowed does not legally prevent marrying her.
