How was the love of the Prophet (peace be upon him)?
Love for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is one of the fundamentals of faith. It is embodied in obeying him, following him, emulating him, and making his Shari'ah supreme. There are many forms of sending blessings upon the Prophet, the most correct of which is the Ibrahimi prayer: "Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammadin wa 'ala ali Muhammadin kama sallaita 'ala ali Ibrahima innaka Hamidun Majid. Allahumma barik 'ala Muhammadin wa 'ala ali Muhammadin kama barakta 'ala ali Ibrahima innaka Hamidun Majid." (O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent prayers upon the family of Ibrahim. Verily, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon the family of Ibrahim. Verily, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious.)
