What is the ruling on someone who finds traces of sorcery in his home or trades in them, and what should he do with them, knowing that removing them involves the work of sorcerers and charlatans?

What is found in homes of ancient buried artifacts from before Islam is considered a rikaz (treasure trove). If it can be extracted through permissible means, the rulings of rikaz apply to it, and it is permissible for the finder to trade in it after extracting the one-fifth [due to the state]. However, extracting it through means of magic and sorcery is forbidden by Islamic law. If it is known to have been buried during the era of Muslims, then it is considered a luqatah (found item) which must be publicized for a year, and the rulings of luqatah apply to it.
