What is the ruling on a leader's commitment to the law of the land and pledging not to violate it in many countries?

It must be understood that man-made laws which have replaced Islamic Sharia are not permissible to be applied, acted upon, or consented to. The obligation is to seek judgment from the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger. Absolute obedience to any human being in everything he commands or forbids is not permissible, except for the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him. It is not permissible for a Muslim to pledge to act according to the law of any country that contradicts Islamic law.
