Is intense jealousy over one's wife, and preventing her from interacting with non-mahram men even in greeting them or serving them food, considered praiseworthy jealousy or blameworthy jealousy?

Jealousy over one's honor ( عرض ) is a characteristic of a believer and a quality of manhood enjoined by Islamic law. As stated in the Hadith: "Indeed, Allah is jealous, and indeed, a believer is jealous. Allah's jealousy is when a believer commits that which He has forbidden for him." This jealousy is commendable as long as it remains within the bounds of moderation and does not lead to obsessive thoughts. The obligatory jealousy is that which encompasses the prohibition of the disgraceful, while the recommended jealousy is that which necessitates the recommended level of safeguarding. As for jealousy in permissible matters that are free from suspicion, it is something that Allah does not like.
