What is the ruling on testing oneself and striving through going to places where women are abundant, such as girls' schools and crowded transportation, with the intention of knowing whether one will fall into temptation or not, and whether one can struggle against one's self, desires, and lusts?

Intentionally exposing oneself to tribulations is a clear error. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not wish to meet the enemy, and ask Allah for well-being. But if you meet them, then be patient." He also forbade sitting in pathways, prevented women from passing through streets for their needs, and prohibited exposing oneself to the rights of Allah and Muslims. Al-Nawawi, Ibn Hajar, and Ibn Battal mentioned that the reason for this prohibition is exposure to tribulations and sin, for a Muslim is commanded not to expose himself to tribulations.
