What is the ruling on the prayers missed due to labor pains that lasted from 'Isha until the Maghrib of the following day; must they be made up after the postpartum period (nifas)?

The jurists define nifas (postpartum bleeding) as blood that exits after childbirth, or two or three days before it. The legal ruling regarding abstaining from prayer and fasting depends on the emission of this blood. If the pains are accompanied by nifas blood, the woman does not have to make up the prayers she missed after the blood appeared. However, if the pains are not accompanied by nifas blood, prayer is not waived for her, and she must pray as long as she is conscious. If she misses prayers in this state, she has erred, and she must repent and make up the missed prayers.
