What is the authenticity of the hadith: "Whoever says in the morning three times, 'I seek refuge in Allah, the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, from the accursed Satan,' and recites three verses from the end of Surat al-Hashr, Allah will entrust seventy thousand angels to pray for him until the evening, and if he dies on that day, he will die as a martyr. And whoever says it in the evening will have the same status"? And should it be acted upon if it is said to be a gharib (uncommon) hadith?

The hadith mentioned in the question was narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, Ahmad, and Al-Darimi from Ma'qil ibn Yasar, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and it states that whoever says three times in the morning: "I seek refuge in Allah, the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, from the accursed devil," and recites the last three verses of Surat Al-Hashr, Allah will assign seventy thousand angels to pray for him until the evening, and if he dies on that day, he dies as a martyr. And whoever says it in the evening will attain the same status.

Al-Tirmidhi said: "This is a gharib hadith; we do not know it except from this narration," and in its chain of transmission is Khalid ibn Tahman, who suffered from memory impairment before his death. A gharib hadith is one that is narrated by only one narrator.

There is no harm in supplicating with this supplication because it relates to virtues. Scholars are lenient regarding virtues, accepting weak hadiths whose weakness is not severe, provided that their content falls under a general established principle, unlike matters of halal and haram.
