What is the advice after Ramadan?
After Ramadan, a Muslim must continue in acts of obedience and avoid sins, for Ramadan is a new page for repentance and perseverance in obedience. A Muslim’s persistence in good deeds after Ramadan is a sign of acceptance, while abandoning them is a sign of degradation. Wretched indeed are the people who do not know Allah except in Ramadan.
Worship is not limited to Ramadan, for the Lord of Ramadan is the Lord of all months. Servitude to Allah must be realized at all times, for prayer, zakat, Hajj, Sadaqa (charity), and other good deeds are means of drawing closer to Allah at all times. Allah Almighty said: (And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me). Continuous good deeds are the most beloved to Allah, even if they are few.
People after Ramadan are of two types: The first returns to sins after obedience in Ramadan, as if he were a prisoner; he is a worshiper of seasons. The second is pained by the departure of Ramadan and continues in obedience, because he tasted the sweetness of closeness to Allah. Let us consider which of the two types we are, and let us remain steadfast, for (Say, "I have believed in Allah and then remain on a right course").
