What is the ruling on intentionally farting and expelling wind in front of people?

Observing good manners and modesty is required. What is disliked in people's custom is blameworthy, and what is habitually considered ugly is ugly, unless the Sharia contradicts it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If you have no shame, then do as you please." This indicates the importance of modesty in controlling actions.

Deliberately passing gas in front of people without an excuse is contrary to modesty and chivalry and is a bad manner. It was among the abominable acts of the people of Lut. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, guided anyone who broke their ablution during prayer to hold their nose, feigning a nosebleed, as a way of concealing something ugly, beautifying oneself, and out of modesty.

However, passing gas due to a medical excuse is permissible, and there should be no mockery or laughter about it, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade laughing at what comes out of a person.
