Is the wife sinful for requesting a separate dwelling from her husband's family after agreeing to her husband's marriage to a second wife, despite knowing that she cannot psychologically tolerate this marriage due to her intense jealousy, and that her request for a separate dwelling is to achieve psychological comfort and avoid looks of pity and comments, given the difficulty of fulfilling this condition due to the husband's family's ties to the children?

A man may marry more than one wife if he deals justly between them, based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿Then marry those that please you of women, two, or three, or four; but if you fear that you will not be equitable, then only one, or what your right hands possess.﴾ Masturbation is impermissible, and its prohibition is further confirmed for a married man. The wife should deter her husband from it. The first wife has the right to stipulate a separate dwelling for herself, but this does not make marriage to a second wife impermissible. Each wife has the right to an independent dwelling if they are harmed by shared accommodation or living with family, but their concession is preferable. It is advisable to occupy one's time with memorizing the Qur'an and Hadith (definition), reading biographies, and listening to beneficial tapes.
