Is it permissible for a man to marry a woman who has been raped, or is it better for him to marry a virgin?

If a woman is chaste and religious, there is no impediment to marrying her, even if she has been subjected to rape. If the husband intends to cover her (by marrying her), he will be rewarded. A man who marries such a woman will not lose out on the benefits of marrying a virgin, as the primary consideration in choosing a wife is religiosity. If two women are equal in religiosity, and one of them has been subjected to rape, then marrying her is more meritorious in order to cover her and relieve her distress.
