In which of the two regions am I entitled to combine and shorten prayers: the region of my family or the region of my work, if the distance between them is 600 km and I do not know where I will settle?

A person's homeland is their original country, or the town they moved to and settled in, with no intention of leaving it except for a need, and then returning to it.

There are three types of homelands: 1. Original homeland (al-watan al-asli): This is a person's homeland in their hometown or another town they have taken as a dwelling, settling there with their family and children, with no intention of moving from it, but rather to live in it. The original homeland is not nullified except by another like it, meaning when a person settles in another town and moves their family there from their original town, abandoning the first homeland and rejecting residence in it. 2. Homeland of residence (watan al-iqamah). 3. Homeland of dwelling (watan al-sukna).

A workplace is considered a place of residence, not a homeland, unless the person makes it their homeland according to the previous definition. So, if one travels to it and intends to reside there for four days or more, they are obligated to complete the prayer.
