Is the testimony of one who slandered chaste women accepted after the Hadd punishment, if he repents?

Slandering chaste women is one of the gravest sins. The repentance of one who slanders chaste women is accepted, provided certain conditions are met. Jurists differed regarding the acceptance of the testimony of a slanderer who has repented. The majority held that it is accepted, citing the noble verse: {Except for those who repent thereafter and amend; for indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful}. On the other hand, Abu Hanifa and those who agreed with him maintained that his testimony is never to be accepted, citing the Almighty's words: {and never accept their testimony, ever}. The disagreement is based on what the exception in the verse refers to. The correct view is that his testimony is accepted in all matters after his repentance and good conduct, which is the opinion of the majority.
