The rights of children upon their parents include:

3. In upbringing:

Bringing them up on sound creed, then on acts of worship such as prayer, then on good morals and manners.

Teaching them manners in eating, drinking, dressing, sleeping, and other aspects; instilling good masculine qualities in them and helping them avoid vices.

Protecting them from what brings them closer to the Hellfire.

4. Financial support (Nafaqah): It is obligatory upon the father, and he must not be negligent in it.

5. Justice: Being just among children in giving and care, and not favoring some over others.
